Adventure comedy Mr Peabody and Sherman and prehistoric epic Walking with Dinosaurs will be February’s Autism Friendly Films, service provider Dimensions has announced.
Cineworld cinemas will show Mr Peabody and Sherman on Sunday, February 2 at 11am. The following Sunday ODEON will also show the film at 11.30am.
Also on February 9, Showcase will show Walking with Dinosaurs at 10am. Vue will also show this film on Sunday, February 28, again starting at 10am.
In Mr Peabody and Sherman, genius dog Mr Peabody uses his most ingenious invention, the WABAC machine, to travel through time with his adopted boy Sherman to experience world-changing events first-hand and meet some of the greatest characters of all time. But when Sherman breaks the rules of time travel, he and Mr Peabody find themselves in a race to repair history and save the future.
Walking with Dinosaurs, which is based on the 1999 BBC series, gives audiences the chance to see and feel what it was like when dinosaurs ruled the Earth. A breakthrough in technology means there are new and exciting dinosaurs that are more real than ever and put moviegoers in the middle of a prehistoric adventure, where an underdog dinosaur triumphs against the odds to become a hero for the ages.
Sensory friendly environment
Autism Friendly Screenings are mainstream films shown in a sensory friendly environment. Lights are on low, sound is turned down, trailers are omitted and people can bring their own food, make noise and move around the cinema as they feel comfortable.
