Independent care home operator Four Seasons Health Care has acquired Care Principles, which provides care, treatment and rehabilitation for people with learning disabilities or specialist mental health needs.
The deal, for an undisclosed sum, has been approved by regulator the Care Quality Commission. All Care Principles employees have transferred to Four Seasons to ensure the continuity and quality of care provided to patients. Care Principles has some 430 beds in 16 medium and low secure hospitals, community hospitals and care homes. Four Seasons is one of the largest independent providers of care services in the UK. It owns or operates more than 400 nursing and care homes, hospitals and specialised care centres, caring for more than 15,000 people and employing some 21,000 staff.
Four Seasons’ chief executive Dr Peter Calveley said: “The services offered by Care Principles align with those of our specialised care provider The Huntercombe Group, which operates hospitals and care centres providing treatment in the areas of mental health, acquired brain injury, neurodisabilities, learning disabilities and children with special needs. The two organisations will be able to enhance their service offers through collaboration and combining the specialist expertise that each has to offer. “With the wellbeing of people in our care as our priority, managers from Four Seasons and Care Principles have worked closely together over recent weeks to ensure the transition could take place with no disruption in our care for patients or the quality of care services provided.”
