Oska Bright to shine a light on filmmakers with learning disabilities

OSKA film previewThe 7th international festival of short films made by people with learning disabilities is inviting submissions for their 2015 festival.

Since 2004, Oska Bright has reached more than 86,000 people around the world and now need people with learning disabilities who have made or might make a short film to enter it for the next festival ahead of the deadline on April 30.

The festival is looking for films and digital media that are under 10 minutes long. They can be in any genre, from live action or animation to documentary or dance-film. Films can be made by groups or individuals in the UK or abroad and they must have people with learning disabilities in control.

Oksa Bright is organised by Carousel, a Brighton-based award-winning learning disability led arts organisation. The films shown in the 2013 festival were also toured across UK, Europe, Australia and Canada alongside film-making masterclasses for people with learning disabilities.

The website www.carousel.org.uk has full information on how to enter and an accessible on-line guide to film-making. Or you can call on 01273 234 734 or email [email protected] for an information pack.
