Planes 2Children’s films The Boxtrolls, Planes 2 and Pudsey the Dog: The Movie will be September’s Autism Friendly Films, service provider Dimensions has announced.

Animated film The Boxtrolls will be screened at Cineworld cinemas on Sunday September 7 at 11am, and by ODEON cinemas the following Sunday (September 14) at 11.30am.

Also on September 14, Showcase will show Planes 2 at 10am.

In animated adventure The Boxtrolls, based on the children’s novel Here Be Monsters by Alan Snow, a young orphan boy called Eggs, who is raised by underground cave-dwelling trash collectors – the Boxtrolls – tries to save his friends, who are seen as a scourge, from an evil exterminator.

Meanwhile, animated sequel Planes 2 sees air racer Dusty move into aerial firefighting after he finds out that engine damage may mean he can never race again. Teaming up with fire and rescue helicopter Blade Ranger and his team of all-terrain vehicles The Smokejumpers, they fight a huge wildfire, and Dusty learns what it means to be a true hero.

Finally, Pudsey the dog, made famous on TV show Britain’s Got Talent, makes the leap to the big screen in his own movie. In Pudsey the Dog: The Movie, stray Pudsey adopts a family – three siblings and their mother – who are moving to a sleepy village. But Pudsey finds out that the family’s landlord, far from just disliking dogs, has a dastardly plan and he resolves to save them and the whole village.
