A new project that aims to support people with a learning disability to set up their own business or community project has been launched.
The project, Dolphin’s Den, will help anyone with a learning disability that has an idea for a business to make it into a reality.
Dolphin’s Den is the brainchild of Andrew Bright, a service quality director and learning and development consultant at Thera, a group of companies that support adults with a learning disability in their own home, at work, in their local community and for short breaks. As a man with a learning disability, he knows all about the challenges that people can face when trying to find employment.
The project will start in Gloucestershire and Worcestershire later this month. Everyone with a learning disability in these areas is welcome to attend.
The format of the sessions is to provide fun workshops as well as advice to help people come up with ideas and plan their business or community project.
