Learning disability services provider Voyage Care has acquired fellow provider Independent Living Group (ILG).
The deal, for an undisclosed amount, is being funded with existing cash and a further injection of equity from Voyage’s majority shareholders, private equity investment groups HgCapital and SL Capital Partners.
Voyage said the day-to-day lives of people supported by ILG will not be affected by the acquisition; they will continue to receive the same care and support from the staff team they know.
Bruce McKendrick, Voyage’s chief executive, said: “Like Voyage, ILG focuses on its people and the provision of quality, specialist care. We welcome this high quality business into the Voyage portfolio and believe we will learn much from each other, making the enlarged business even stronger.”
Voyage supports more than 2,100 people across the UK with learning disabilities, brain injuries and other related complex and challenging needs in 262 registered homes, 83 supported living locations and 12 day care centres. It also provides more than 17,500 hours of support per week for people in their own homes.
ILG supports adults with learning disabilities, Huntington’s disease, brain injuries and other related complex needs. The company employs more than 500 staff spread across 28 registered homes across Hampshire, East Sussex, West Sussex and Kent.
