Supporting professionals working in learning disability and autism services

People with Learning Disabilities in England 2010.

Eric Emerson, et al.

North East Public Health Observatory, 2011

Information on characteristics of people with learning disabilities, the services and supports they use and their carers is collected by several government departments and made publically available through a number of diverse channels. The aim of this report is, within a single publication, to provide a concise summary of this information and to provide links to key data collections.

All of the information contained in this report relates to people with learning disabilities in England. Most of the data sources are based on a comprehensive national census of activity at either a given point in time or over a given period of time.

Please see Jim Kennedy’s blog for summary and comment.
