Ambitious about Autism announces new Chair of the Board 

Robert Bishop is to become the new Chair of the Board of Trustees of the charity Ambitious about Autism, including its Schools Trust.

Ambitious about Autism is the national charity standing with autistic children and young people. The charity started as one school and has become a movement for change. It champions rights, campaigns for change and creates opportunities.

Bob is a partner at global law firm DLA Piper, having chaired the firm’s international corporate practice from 2015 to 2022. He has lived experience of autism and has been actively engaged in various aspects of the work of Ambitious about Autism for a number of years.

Commenting on his appointment, Bob Bishop said: “I’m delighted to be appointed Chair of the Board of Trustees as the charity continues to grow its reach and impact at such a critical time.

“As a father to three wonderful neurodivergent daughters, I have a deep personal connection with Ambitious about Autism’s life-changing work.  The charity has an ambitious vision to support autistic children and young people in all aspects of their lives, from education to employment, health, family and community. Bob will join Ambitious about Autism’s Board of Trustees in November before becoming Chair in December after the current Chair Neil Goulden retires.
