A group of campaigners will take to West Suffolk Hospital next week to protest against unequal healthcare for people with learning disabilities.
The event, organised by Mencap, is being run as part of the organisation’s Treat Me Well campaign for Learning Disability Week, which runs from June 18 to 24. It seeks to end unfair treatment of people with learning disabilities within the healthcare system.
It will be held on Wednesday, June 20 between 10.30am and 2pm in the hospital’s time out cafeteria.
“This event was a chance for local campaigners to ensure our local NHS Trust and people who work in our hospitals are aware of the simple reasonable adjustments they need to be making by law. These adjustments can save lives.”
