Animated family films Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, Turbo and Smurfs 2 have been announced as the Autism Friendly Films for November.
The films will be shown at participating ODEON, Vue, Cineworld and now Showcase cinemas across the country. Cineworld cinemas will show Turbo on Sunday, November 3 at 11am.
Meanwhile, Showcase cinemas will show Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 on Sunday, November 10 at 10am. ODEON cinemas will show the same film at 11.30am on the following Sunday.
Vue will show Smurfs 2 at 10am on Sunday, November 24.
Dreamworks’ Turbo tells the story of snail who, after a freak accident gives him super-speed, embarks on a journey to try and compete in the world’s fastest race, the Indianapolis 500.
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 continues the story of inventor Flint Lockwood, who discovers that his invention from the first film, a machine that can turn water into food, is still working but now creates mutant food beasts. Now, he and his friends must save the world from them.
In Smurfs 2, the evil wizard Gargamel kidnaps Smurfette and takes her to Paris in order to harness the all-powerful, magical Smurf-essence. But Papa, Clumsy, Grouchy, Vanity and the other Smurfs, along with their human friends Patrick and Grace Winslow, set out to rescue her.
Sensory friendly environment Autism Friendly Screenings are mainstream films shown in a sensory friendly environment. Lights are on low, sound is turned down, trailers are omitted and people can bring their own food, make noise and move around the cinema as they feel comfortable.
