Learning disability dating agency launched

A new friendship and dating agency has been launched across the north of England, following a successful pilot in Leeds and Wakefield.

Luv2MeetU (L2MU) provides people with learning disabilities the opportunity to develop and sustain friendships and relationships within their local community and the surrounding area. To celebrate the launch, ceremonies were held in Leeds, Sheffield, Halifax and Chesterfield – four of the key areas in which the scheme operates. L2MU offers its members the opportunity to enjoy a range of leisure and social activities, meet new people, go on dates (with appropriate support) and take part in the running of the service.

The agency is supported by 50 volunteers. For anyone looking for more information on the service, please visit www.luv2meetu.com. To become a member or to find out more about volunteering call 01924 229120 or email [email protected].
