How to train your dragon 2Animated family films How to Train Your Dragon 2 and Frozen will be July’s Autism Friendly Films, service provider Dimensions has announced.

Cineworld and ODEON will show How to Train Your Dragon 2 on Sunday, July 6 at 11am and 11.30am respectively. Showcase will also show the film on the following Sunday, starting at 10am.

Meanwhile Vue will show Frozen on Sunday, July 27 at 10am.

Dreamworks’ How to Train Your Dragon 2 returns to the island of Berk five years on from the end of the original film. Now, Hiccup and his dragon, Toothless, spend most of their time flying through the skies, charting unmapped territories. But when they discover a secret ice cave that is home to hundreds of wild dragons and the mysterious Dragon Rider, the friends find themselves at the centre of a battle to protect the peace.

Disney’s Frozen tells the story of Anna, who goes on a journey to find her elder sister, Elsa, who has the power to create ice and snow and has accidentally trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter. Along with mountain man Kristoff, his reindeer Sven and a snowman called Olaf, Anna battles the elements to try to reach her sister and save her.

Sensory friendly environment

Autism Friendly Screenings are mainstream films shown in a sensory friendly environment. Lights are on low, sound is turned down, trailers are omitted and people can bring their own food, make noise and move around the cinema as they feel comfortable.
