Dimensions, a specialist provider of support for people with learning disabilities and autism has launched its annual Erica Awards and is inviting nominations for it.
The Erica Awards were set up in 2010. As well as recognising inspirational people who are making a difference to the lives of people with learning disabilitities, it remembers Erica Morton, who died in 2009.
Morton was one of the first people with a learning disability to become a member of the Dimensions board and was a dedicated champion for people with learning disabilities. This year there are two categories; one for groups and one for individuals. Anyone over the age of 18 with a learning disability or autism can enter, whether they are supported by Dimensions or not. The winners will both be awarded up to £1,000 to support projects that make a difference to the lives of people with learning disabilities and autism. The winners and two runners up in each category will also be given small personal cash prizes.
Entries should be made by October 7.
