At present categories such as old age, dementia, mental infirmity and learning disability are often applied to care homes and domiciliary care agencies. CSSIW asked for feedback on proposals to phase out the use of categories so that the impact of this change could be understood and how the change might be best implemented.
111 responses were received, with 68% of those in favour of our proposals, 17 % against. 15% of respondents were undecided.
