Care UK acquires Whitwood Care

Care services provider Care UK has acquired Whitwood Care, which runs 3 residential care homes for people with learning disabilities in West Yorkshire (5th September 2012).

Whitwood Care runs Whitwood House, Whitwood Hall and Whitwood Grange, 3 purpose-built residential facilities providing specialist care and support for 48 people with learning disabilities and autism. The care provided focuses on personalised support aimed at positively managing behaviours that challenge promoting independence and integration within the local community.

This purchase fits well with Care UK’s existing services for people with learning disabilities, which include outreach, care at home, respite, live in care, supported living and residential homes.

Libby Eastley, business development director for community services at Care UK, said: “We are really pleased to welcome the Whitwood Care team into our community services division.

“The three homes from Whitwood Care are a natural fit with the rest of our services for people with learning disabilities. We are busy getting to know the people who live in the homes and the teams that support them.”
